Strong and Fierce

A year or so ago, I bought a t-shirt that stated “strong and fierce” across the front in bold letters. On a weekend outing, I walked into an open market type of area and a middle aged man looked at me as I walked in and asked “What makes you strong and fierce?” Taken aback for a moment {because I haven’t really had anyone ask me a direct question based on the words on my shirt} I responded “My God gives me this ability.” As I walked around the market that afternoon, I had 3 separate people comment and ask me a similar question about being strong and fierce. As the day went on I began thinking about this and the definitions of these two words.
Strong - the ability to withstand great force or pressure
Fierce- showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity
I am reminded that I am a reflection of a mighty and powerful God who states that I have access to his authority and power. Isaiah 40:29 says “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” As we grow in faith and believe the promises of the Father he fills us to overflowing. The fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) will exude from us reflecting the beautiful strength and fierce love of God. As we walk through our days, we can walk in confidence knowing that through faith God gives immeasurable abilities to face mighty battles in both the seen realm and the unseen realm. I encourage you to grow your faith through reading the Bible daily and spending time in prayer. It is in those alone times with God that we increase our readiness (power) for the battles of our lives.
