It’s that time of year when we are thinking of our goals and desires for the upcoming year. As I think of years gone by and to what is ahead, I feel the need to draw close to earth and all that natural resources God has created. One of my many concerns as the years move on has been our food source. Just one or two generations ago most of us were really close to our food source but now we really have no idea where the food we buy really comes from. It’s so easy to take for granted. Over the years God drawn me to look closer at both plant and animal products our family consumes and I have learned so much. I am convinced that God has given us all (most of)

that we need to for our health through our food. Hippocrates wrote, “Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food.” It seems like a profound statement but its really only in the western world that we depend on pharmaceutical medication so much. So I’ve decided it’s time to look back a generation and begin to teach the remedies that worked for our ancestors. I’d love for you to join me on the journey of natural medicine.

The importance of understanding what we put into our bodies. In a world where convenience often trumps quality, it's easy to lose sight of the nutritional value of our meals. As someone juggling a busy schedule—between work, family, and even trying to find someone to take my HESI exam for me—I often find myself resorting to fast food or pre-packaged options. Reading this made me reflect on how that habit affects long-term health. The message here reinforces that taking control of your food is as essential as taking control of your education.
